Speech therapy is a reconstructing process or treatment of physical and cognitive disorders resulting in difficulty with oral communication. Speech disorder could be both speech (articulation, intonation, intensity, volume) and language (phonology, morphology).
Depending on the nature and severity of the disorder, treatments vary or range from collaborative teaching, physical strengthening exercise, repetition of speech practice, drilling to exposure of audio-visual aids.
Speech therapy is done by a speech therapist or speech pathologist. This process involves various steps – Assessment, Diagnosis and Treatment to prevent disorders of speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, fluency, and so on.
