Eating Disorder Treatment

We lose ourselves in a fast moving world, not eating properly nor paying attention to our health, as if we are going to get lost. Not many know the seriousness of eating disorder. Research says that eating disorders left unaddressed can be deadly. Hence, the sooner you start treating eating disorders the better are the chances of full recovery.

Eating disorders may lead to complications like low body weight which further causes dehydration, anemia, low levels of potassium and magnesium (which can lead to heart problems), hypotension, arrhythmia, kidney failure, liver disease, osteoporosis and many more.

Hence, it is now a demanding situation for parents having children with eating disorders/problems. Also, there is even more demand of treatment as to save the children. These are some points to consider when the child has eating disorder:

  • Care around the clock: Monitoring the children in nutritional rehabilitation.
  • Family-like care: Family members should play an active, positive role in helping kids recover. How far the family members view is equally proportional to how fast we can expect the recovery.
  • A collaborative model: The child’s eating habits collaborate with the treatment given. There should be a vigilant view on the likes and dislikes of the child with respect to eating and accordingly there should be customized care.
