Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder affecting one’s communication, behaviour and social interaction. The term ‘spectrum’ indicates that there are various types and degrees of severity at which autism affects individuals. The symptoms of ASD can be observed in the first 2-3 years of life. People with autism face challenges with respect to communication and behaviour in their personal and social life. Even though ASD lasts lifelong, proper treatment can bring in a significant amount of change and help autistic individuals lead a better life to a great extent.
