Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD)

ADHD is a condition where there is a developmental impairment in the brain pertaining to the ability to focus or pay attention, self-control, etc.

ADHD symptoms include:

Lack of attentiveness or focus

Inability to control impulsive behaviour

Hyperactive

Forgetful

Daydreaming

Restless

Causes of ADHD can be heredity, genetics, brain injury or even exposure to environmental toxins.

ADHD is not just a childhood disorder, it can continue through an individual’s teenage and adulthood. People with ADHD face challenges in managing time, maintaining good relationships, performing well at school and so on. Also, ADHD affected children have low self-esteem and find it impossible to reach their goals.

However, it doesn’t mean that children with ADHD cannot lead a good life. With medicine, therapy and parental support, children affected by ADHD can be helped. As ADHD is a major obstacle in bringing out the best in a child, it has to be nipped in the bud, so that they can lead their life to the fullest, the way that they deserve.
